I'm a New York style pizza fan. All of the other styles pale in comparison to the thin wedges of grease. But, after my recent diagnosis of celiac disease, I've struggled to find restaurants that make a safe gluten free pizza. After soliciting recommendations, Buddys Pizza was routinely named. While I'm still a NY style purist, Buddy's is the only place I order pizza from. Detroit style is even growing on me. This particular location was on a lunch with my grandmother who lives nearby. Our server, Amanda, was nice, kind, jovial. I knew Buddy's had good GF protocol but wanted to subtly quiz her on how she'd submit the order and she explained the entire process without much prompting and calmed any concerns. 15 minutes later, a delightful Detroit Zoo pizza came out that I ate too much of at once. Normally, I don't sign up for rewards apps because, let's be honest, they're data harvesting scams, but, Amanda told us about a promotion/coupon in the app for $15 off our order (or basically a free pizza) without any real effort. Free pizza is always a good thing. Great food!

Loved the mac and cheese I ordered for my lunch today. Deven was very informative and accommodating. He explained the gluten free menu to my friend and recommended the apple crisp for dessert. The apple crisp was fantastic. We made a reservation for our clubs Christmas lunch and got information on group gatherings. They are open on Thanksgiving, too. I will be trying out some of the other menu items . The have adult beverages if you like to have a nice glass of wine with your meal.

We have ordered take out with friends and family at least twice a week since they have opened. No one has been disappointed yet. The food is flavorful, and delicious. Their fries and onions rings are so good! And they have a gluten free fryer to make fries in. So if you want gluten free fries to go with you tacos or the chicken breast dinner…. My daughter has celiac and it is so hard to find a restaurant for her to eat at. Thank goodness for Dee’s it has quickly become a very popular restaurant in Hazel Park. They staff are super friendly and helpful.
