Great gluten free and vegan options. Very juicy and yummy. Free range meat. Friendly staff. Music was loud. Good atmosphere. Lettuce wrap was not easy to eat if you get an egg. Needed to use silverware.

Michelle Ashley’s custom cupcakes were so delicious! We celebrated the birth of our grandson with carrot cake, German Chocolate and raspberry champagne filled cupcakes from the bakery. We also were able to get some gluten free options for our gluten free guests. The guest told us these were the best cupcakes they had ever had! I have bought several things from them and all were extremely delicious! I would highly recommend their speciality bakes treats!

Taproot consistently produces quality food. I’ve gone four times in the last 5 years and I’ve enjoyed delicious food and service each time. We had the brussel sprouts, chicken wings, curry bowl, kale salad and smoothies. Their menu had 5+ alternative milks, vegan and gluten free options. Located downtown, close many other businesses. My friends and I will return.

This was my second time going and it was just as amazing as the first time. We were seated promptly and our waiter, Dyllan, was prompt and great with descriptions and recommendations. The only thing that was a slight bummer for me is the gluten-free options are limited. We had the shrimp and bacon risotto, brisket quesadilla and the Brussel sprouts. it was all amazing.. Will definitely be going back.

DO NOT SETTLE FOR ANYWHERE ELSE (and great for gluten-free if you need). Everything about this place - the people, the food, the speed, the service - was excellent. Our server suggested the Plate of Love, which for me included their GF crème brûlée French toast. Since I’m GF I haven’t had French toast at a restaurant in ages. I was blown away. Best I’ve ever had. Can’t say enough about this spot. If you only have one day, don’t go anywhere else. If you’re in Salem multiple days - come back and work through the menu! If you live in Salem, you are truly blessed to have this place in your daily life!
