Gluten free pizza was decent. A little unevenly cooked crust wise but the specialty toppings definitely made up for the crispy outside, doughy center of the pizza. I got a butternut squash pizza. It was not big enough to split though. Other meals (normal pizza/salad) in my group looked good and the bowl one person got looked amazing.

My original review follows this after the * * * * We had an exhibition of our alumni in Durham, and our folks came in from California, Texas, Ohio, Maine, as well as states closer to home. Owner Brian Pearson arranged for two large tbles for our group, and all our participants enjoyed themselves. They raved over the food, the service, and the evening. A number came back the following morning for brunch before heading back home. That, too, was thoroughly enjoyed. I always go fro the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and because I am gluten-free, I had mine of spinach...sublime! Kudos to Brian and his staff for yet another wonderful event. * * * * Antonia's keeps getting better and better! Recently, I ordered the special, stuffed peppers. They were absolutely delectable with seafood and other goodies. It was for my birthday, so the fact that it was delicious made it extra special. It turns out that Brian, the owner along with his wife, had come up with that creation. Kudos to him and the rest of the staff! It is our local go-toRestaurant, because we are never disappointed. And because it is always delicious, and because we travel so much in normal years, we have no need to go outside our town. And for us who do not feel comfortable dining inside, Brian got three outdoor heaters that we happily sit under, as long as it isn’t raining.

This place is absolutely amazing. The pastries are made on premises and are always fresh. I have to eat gluten free so I tried the caramel pecan cakes. These were so good I could not tell that they were gluten free. I mentioned to the owner how it is difficult to find a bakery that sells fresh gluten free pastries and I was glad he had them on his menu. The bakeries I have been to have always had them either frozen or none at all. If you’re ever in the area or even if you took a little detour it’s definitely worth a trip at this bake shop.

Got the French press coffee and the fruity pebble doughnut. One of the best doughnuts I’ve EVER had! It had the texture of a cake doughnut but not too heavy with a perfect slight crisp on the outside. There was no glaze (I prefer this to keep it from being too sweet) but the icing was the perfect amount and had just enough fruity pebbles on top. They also have an apple cider one that I think would just be divine. The staff was so kind and took the time to explain everything. The coffee comes with a timer to let you know how long before you should pour it. It didn’t have a burnt or too acidic taste. I really enjoyed that each cup was fresh just for you. I took mine to go today but the atmosphere was nice and can’t wait to come back and enjoy it when I have more time. They also had a gluten free muffin and granola.
